Black Brows

Thourt fair & black thy brows as black as jet

But nere were black & white so lovely met

The Mores Black prince would court ye theres in you

The English beauty and the negroes too

Ive read of Goshen which the light did cover

When a black darknesse was all ægipt over

Hers a Transcendant wonder here is euen

Cymerian darknesse In the face of heaven

Enameld black upon thy brows is set

Which other Madams do but counterfeit

And those black patches which our Ladyes weare

To set their lily out is in thy haire

Nor do thy twinkling eys like two cleare bright

Fair stars appear cause in thy brows is night

No but thy brows because so nigh they stand

With thy bright eys are sunburnt blackt & and tand

Thy brows do mourne & sit it is if ere

Thy eyne Amanda shed one single teare

If ere thou weepst but once although thou neuer

Weep more tis sit thine eyebrows mourne for euer
